What would prompt an intern to make jokes like this? "Wow.. this plane crash news is a bit heavy.. time to lighten things up a bit with a bit of racism...".
The NTSB apologized for the inaccurate and offensive names and said "Earlier today, in response to an inquiry from a media outlet, a summer intern acted outside the scope of his authority when he erroneously confirmed the names of the flight crew on the aircraft".
Outside the scope of his authority? Erroneously? That's a big double helping of 'no shi# Sherlock' right there..
Well.. this gets better. Now the airline company is going to sue the television station for 'damaging its reputation'. I would have thought bouncing one of your planes would do that..
